Learn to Teach

This program is designed to teach you everything you will need to know to become an ISU Recreation Services Yoga Instructor, and to prepare you for the YogaFit Level 1 Training. At the end of the course, you will instruct a yoga class to determine skill eligibility to be hired as a yoga instructor for ISU Recreation Services.

To qualify to register you must currently be enrolled as an Iowa State University student and have at least 3 semesters remaining until graduation. A nationally recognized certification is required upon the completion of training and mentoring.

Learn to Train

Dates: September 9 - December 4
Day:  Tuesday and Thursday at 3:45pm –5:00pm
Location: Beyer 1310

This program is designed to teach you everything you will need to know to become a Personal Trainer and prepare to take the ACE (American Council on Exercise) nationally accredited Personal Trainer exam. The course will consist of a lecture and skill-building portion. Attendance on both days is required. At the end of the course, you will perform a practical training session to determine skill eligibility to be hired as a Personal Trainer for ISU Recreation Services.

The course will consist of ACE (American Council on Exercise) textbook material, practice quizzes, a non-proctored exam and hands-on, skill-building experience. At the end of the course, you will be evaluated on your training skills to determine eligibility to be hired 

To qualify to register you must currently be enrolled as an Iowa State University student and have at least 3 semesters remaining until graduation. A nationally recognized certification is required upon the completion of mentoring.
