Our Mission

To support the recreational pursuits and well-being of all Iowa State University students.

Our vision is to be the national leader in student-centric campus recreation.

Organizational Structure

Recreation Services is organized into three main areas: FacilitiesPrograms, and Business Operations. Each area is led by an Associate Director, with overall leadership provided by the Director of Recreation Services. Our dedicated staff work collaboratively to deliver high-quality services and experiences to the ISU community.

Impact & Engagement: Data & Statistics

From our Fall 2024 Customer Satisfaction Survey, students shared how Recreation Services positively impacts their lives:

  • 93% said it improved their health and/or well-being
  • 61% found a community of peers
  • 53% felt it helped them succeed academically 
  • 42% said it was a reason they continue to stay at ISU

These results reflect our commitment to creating meaningful experiences that support student life and learning.
